Quality, Health and Safety:
The Natuzzi group, in compliance with the strict international standards in terms of quality management, environmental protection and safety, has received the most significant certifications: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, affirming our organization's commitment to guarantee and maintain a management model to Improve company's environmental, safety and total quality performance. It is this continuous research for superior quality that lets us offer a 10-year warranty on the structure of our products and 2 years on padding, mechanisms and upholstery.
Our company is never satisfied, however, and has thus created its very own Quality Laboratory, responsible for testing every sofa component to ensure that each one complies with the strictest international standards as well as guaranteeing maximum comfort and resistance to wear: the materials are subjected to repeated tests in order to measure their performance and resistance over time in every situation and weather condition.
The special polyurethane foam padding is patented and developed at our facilities in Italy.

Sustainability:
For the International Year of Forests, declared by the United Nations in 2011, the Company is committed to improve its already advanced principles and criteria of good governance, for the protection and enhancement of trees and forests. According to the Company Philosophy, the wood is considered an excellent material, in terms of quality and environmental condition, but only if it is legally produced and comes from forests managed in a responsible manner. For this reason, Natuzzi Group does not accept wood illegally extracted from unchecked and endangered forests.
In particular, before any wood purchase or its derivatives, Natuzzi Group, with its employees, collects all the required data to prove the source, just to exclude from trade materials and products produced by illegal activities, which undermine the environment and the forests safety.
In accordance with the wood traceability principle, suppliers should regularly report source, volume and species of all the sold wood. Natuzzi Group will cancel any supply contracts with all those producers who do not undertake to respect the following important conditions, strictly followed in the majority of the Group's production plants:
• Declare the Country of origin and confirm the legal status and the exact position of cutting and tree trunks transport, by all the appropriate documents. The seller is committed to providing the documents to the buyer within 48 hours upon request.
• Do not use wood from intact natural forests or other sites geographically identified as “High Conservation Value Forests”.
• Do not sell wood coming from the logging of forests related to social conflicts, from logging operations in tropical or subtropical regions linked to the project of converting natural forests to plantations and wood originated from genetically modified trees.
Natuzzi Group points to the sustainability by using: materials derived from wood, which contain minimal or zero amounts of formaldehyde, in line with the strictest international legislation; polyurethane foam for upholstery made in total absence of freon. Moreover, Natuzzi has a management system adequate to control the environmental impacts of its activities, and is constantly looking for improvements, in a coherent, effective and sustainable way, thanks especially to the ISO 14001 environmental certification.
Social Responsability:
Throughout its history, the Natuzzi Group has never lacked energy, both to face the challenges of growth and to cope with crises. It is clean energy because it comes from passion and responsibility; and it is renewable, because it comes from an inexhaustible enthusiasm.
21,000 photovoltaic panels have been installed on rooftops of Natuzzi plants and trading offices in Puglia and Basilicata (Italy). Once again, it is clean and renewable energy.
Thanks to an estimated power of about 4,5 Megawatt, the photovoltaic systems will assure an annual reduction of approximately 3400 tonnes in CO2 emissions, equal to the annual emission of about 1200 cars. At the present moment, five photovoltaic systems have already been installed on plants in Santeramo in Colle, Matera and Laterza.
This result is a significant contribution of Natuzzi in protecting nature, confirming the company's commitment towards the environment.
The environmental management system of Natuzzi Group was certified ISO 14001 in 2002. The adoption of renewable energy demonstrates the purpose of the company to control the environmental impacts of its production activities and seek improvement in a coherent, effective and, above all, sustainable way.
We have become increasingly concerned with reports of particularly volatile, hazardous and even toxic chemical products being used as part of the packaging system by some leather seating manufacturers.
The Natuzzi Group wishes to make clear the fact we do not, nor have we ever, used such materials or chemicals either in our manufacturing or packaging processes.
Enviromental Protection
Natuzzi Group is a leader in innovation and leather and we have been committed to applying these same talents to become a recognized environmental leader.
Our production process is certified both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (Italy production) and certified E-1, environmentally sensitive furniture manufacturing (Global production).
Other issues relevant to our continuous and rigorous effort towards quality and environmental consciousness:
• Leather is a by-product of the beef industry and a recycled material.
• Energy efficiency in our production process.
• Best use of materials in construction in order to save precious timber resources.
• Engineered wood (where appropriate) is renewable, natural and requires less energy to manufacture and reduces waste.
• Our Ecoflex foam is CFC-free and hypoallergenic to most people.
• We recycle the water used in our tanneries.
• We do not use hazardous toxic flame retardant chemicals such as PBDE & DMF
• We own the lumber, the tanneries and produce our own foam allowing us unmatched quality control.
These are not simply a list of rules to be followed or theories to be applied; but our actual values. We strive to be an outstanding model of environmental stewardship and community responsibility.
Pasquale Natuzzi commented: “Our commitment for sustainable development is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity. It expresses a forward-looking investment which is fundamental for every company's continuity. Renewable energies are also an opportunity to compete keeping the operating costs low. Combining the sustainable development with the competition is a challenge that our company wants to carry on in order to improve the quality of life in the territory”.
